We always give our brides a call ahead of their appointment to put them at ease and to find out more about the wedding so we are as prepared as possible to make it an incredible experience for you.

Our top tip for this (if you are not coming to see us which we hope you do!) is to do your research. Make sure that the boutique you plan to visit has an experience that will make you feel comfortable and that they have inclusive sizing and a good range of dresses for all body types.

We suggest starting your wedding dress search about 12 months before your wedding date. This allows plenty of time for ordering and alterations without feeling rushed. However, starting too early can lead to indecision as new styles are released. Find a balance that gives you ample time without overwhelming you with options. While it’s helpful to have an idea of what you like, and everyone wants to look on Pinterest and the big wedding blogs for inspiration, it’s also important to keep an open mind! Too much research can sometimes lead to preconceived ideas that might limit your choices. What we would recommend is to get some inspiration online or from magazines and use that to help you with your consultation.

Schedule your final fitting close to the wedding date to ensure the best fit. Check ahead of your appointment that your wedding dress shop has an in-house alterations department or a recommended alterations contact if you don’t have someone that you already know and trust.
