Q. What happens If I feel anxious during my bridal appointment?
Your stylist will move at your pace and make sure you feel comfortable every step of the way. If you need a quiet moment, a glass of water or even a short break we will make that happen without any pressure. We will never rush you into making decisions. Your appointment is all about you, so you can take the time you need to feel calm and confident.
Q. I don’t like anything I have tried on so far! Will I find the one?
That’s ok, it just means you haven’t found the “one” yet. Your stylist will use what you’ve previously learnt from trying on other dresses to suggest styles you might never have considered, sometimes these are the dresses that surprise you the most. Trust how you feel, it will never fail you.
Q. Do I put the wedding dresses on myself or does somebody help me?
You will have your own dedicated bridal stylist who will be with you throughout your appointment. They will help you into each dress so you dont need to worry about struggling with zips, corsets or delicate fabrics. We will make sure every dress is fitted correctly for you to see how it should look and feel. You will be able to relax, enjoy the moment, and focus on how each dress makes you feel, while we take care of the rest.
Q. Do I need to wear a strapless bra or any particular underwear?
You don’t need to wear anything special before your appointment. Most of our gowns have built-in support so you can try them without a bra. We recommend wearing nude/light coloured underwear so whatever you choose you will be comfortable and supported.
Q. I am self conscious about my body, it’s stopping me from booking an appointment. Can you help me with this?
Our stylists are experts at working with all shapes and sizes, and will help you find dresses that celebrate your favourite features. We will listen to what you feel confident in and guide you towards styles that make you feel amazing. We will create a safe, supportive space where you can enjoy the experience and truly fall in love with your dress.
Q. I am worried about my weight changing before my wedding. Do I need to worry?
It’s completely natural to feel concerned about weight changes before your wedding and we are here to support you every step of the way. We offer several options for you to feel confident about the timing of your measurements. For brides ordering a min of 12 months or more in advance we can reschedule a re -measure appointment to ensure the best possible fit. You can discuss this with your stylist in more detail on the day.
Q. I am planning on taking weight loss injections before my wedding day, will this affect my dress order?
Thank you for sharing this with us, we know it can sometimes be a tricky conversation to navigate. It’s really helpful to know so we can plan your fittings and measurements in the best way for you to ensure your dress fits beautifully on your special day. To discuss this further please either give us a call or speak to your stylist on the day when ordering your dress.
Q. My dress budget isn’t high and I don’t want to feel embarrassed. Is this ok?
We will work within your budget from the start, showing you gowns that fit your style and price range without any pressure to spend more. Here at Wedding Belles of Four Oaks our dresses start from £1500, however our sister store The Bridal Outlet Birmingham offers off the peg dresses from £495. We offer payment plans in both stores, please ask for more details.
Q. I have just found out I’m pregnant/ or I am planning on having a baby before my wedding day, how can you help with this?
Congratulations, this is such exciting news! We completely understand that a pregnancy can change your wedding dress plans and we will work with you to make sure you still have your dream dress. If time scales allow we can delay your final measurements until after your baby is born. Alternatively, we would suggest finding your dress whilst you’re still in the early stages of your pregnancy to allow you to visualise easier as this will not limit your choices.
Q. Is your boutique LGBTQ friendly?
Absolutely! We welcome and celebrate all brides and couples of all sexual orientations. Love is love and we are honoured to be part of every couple’s journey. Our boutique is a safe, inclusive space where you can be your authentic self surrounded by a team who will listen, support and celebrate you every step of the way.
Q. Do you offer wedding dresses for plus size brides?
Yes absolutely, we believe every bride deserves to feel beautiful and confident on her wedding day. We carry a wide selection of plus size wedding dresses to suit different styles, shapes and budgets. Your stylist will work closely with you to find silhouettes that celebrate your shape and make you feel amazing from the moment you step into your first dress.
Q. Do I need an appointment?
Yes, we operate by appointment only and due to the layout of our boutique, we do not allow browsing if an appointment is taking place. Please book ahead as Saturday’s are very busy, we recommend 2 to 4 weeks in advance for a weekend appointment.
Q. Who/what shall I bring with me to my appointment?
We see day in and day out that brides usually find their dress when they least expect to! So it’s important to bring along the people that matter in your life so they can be present when you experience that magical moment of you finding “the one”. It can be very overwhelming if you have too many opinions, so choose wisely and chat to your bridal party about your bridal style ahead of your appointment.
Q. Can I bring children to my appointment?
As we are licensed premises, we therefore cannot accept children under the age of 10 (with the exception of nursing babies). We kindly also ask that no pushchairs be brought in to the boutique due to the limited space inside each bridal suite.
We also ask you to consider our other customers and to appreciate that not every woman is at the same stage of their lives when it comes to babies and children, so we appreciate your consideration of their feelings during your appointment.
Q. When shall I start shopping for my wedding dress?
Firstly congratulations on your engagement, exciting times ahead! Honestly… when you feel ready! Bride’s usually find their dresses with us quicker than they think. Wedding dresses really can take you by surprise, one minute you’re just getting ideas … and then wow you step into the “one”. An average order time is 12 months ahead of your wedding date, this allows time for the making of you’re beautiful dress and the alteration/fitting process ensuring a smooth stress-free experience.
Q. What if my wedding is within 4/6 months?
We have a beautiful, varied collection of off the peg gowns starting from £695 in our sister boutique, The Bridal Outlet!
